Mio Descent Cylinder W/Brake Control
Rope Descender Cylinder by MIO: Operates on the principal of friction created between the work line that loops around the center shaft of the descender. The speed of descent depends on the number of times the rope is wrapped around the shaft. Lever brake control mechanism allows the operator to vary the speed and brake at any time by releasing the lever. No need to wrap the rope like other cylinders. Works best with 7/16" Kermantle or 1/2" Double Braided Nylon. A safety line must be used in addition to this workline.
Model MIO-D2 (patented) is a compact and lightweight Rope Descender with built in Lever Break Control Mechanism which allows the operator to vary the speed and stop at any time without being concerned with the free end of the rope not being tied up. Moving the lever allows the user to initiate descent from a full stop to a full go.
